This is the third year I have been commissioned to photograph imagery for the cover of the Pioneer brochure (I love working on the cover concept). I have been mulling over the design for some time, and finally decided it would be great to present a Pioneer Christmas Dinner in the form of a wreath, including all the fresh colourful veggies available to buy. (The fresh fruit and veg section is really successful in store – lots of people love that the loose produce which you can hand select and pop into traditional brown paper bags). The design was finished off with accents of copper to compliment Pioneers branding.
These are just a small selection of images from the shoot. If you’re wondering where to do your food shopping this Christmas, I recommend Pioneer – lovely produce with a personal service 😊
Food Photography is usually a season in advance
When it comes to food photography, I usually need to get my festive head on unseasonably early. Any Christmas photography requirements are a season ahead, so it’s ready to be included in any design and marketing at the very start of the festive period.
This year is particularly exciting, as Pioneer Foodstore will be enjoying their first Christmas in their lovely new premises at Rosehill, Carlisle.
New produce at Pioneer Foodstore
The Foodstore includes an in-house bakery, offering freshly baked produce (the multigrain cob is very more-ish!) including of course, their own mince pies. Additionally, Bells fishmonger have a concession in store, which is a visual treat; beautiful fillets of fresh fish shimmering on the counter, alongside sweet scallops & whole sides of salmon.
