This autumn we ran a series of Food Photography & Styling workshops with Cumbria Chamber of Commerce. We delivered these as a full-on day, packed with tips and advice for businesses looking to improve their in-house photography. We also included a practical food photography and styling session too.
As the last session was on the run up to Christmas, I thought it would be lovely to indulge in some festive styling, hence the ‘Festive Doughnut Stack’ and Boozy Mince Pies.
I love styling food in a slightly informal way – including the accidental drips and crumbs that make food look so appetising and appealing.
Here are a couple of images from the day. I set these up to help demonstrate a few fundamentals of food photography, including composition, camera angle, lighting. I also shared some ideas on how to use colour and styling to compliment and enhance food.
We were booked through Cumbria Chamber of Commerce to deliver these courses – so a big thank-you to the Chamber! We’ve really enjoyed delivering the workshops and meeting some lovely people along the way 🙂
